While we’ve been developing Awen’s Call and writing material, Elizabeth has also been exploring a new pastime – topping singing competitions! Last month she gained first place in two online events, the first organised by the US-based music brand Smule, a community singing app with over 52 million active users. The initial shortlist of 100 successful competitors were narrowed down to 10 finalists over five weeks of competition rounds, with each one performing a different music genre including ballad, rock, and country.

To progress through each round, Elizabeth recorded her own vocals with multi-layers of harmony and backing; as well as filming and editing a music video storyline to reflect each song, including her winning interpretation of Beyoncé’s ‘Spirit’ from ‘The Lion King’. Her cash prize was donated to charity.
