Our 2023 May Day gig was a fundraiser for a sacred site restoration project in South Wales. Held in the village of Llangiwg, just north of Swansea, the venue is a Norman church named after Ciwg the Confessor, a sixth-century hermit whose cell is said to be hidden beneath. Could we get any more Celtic?
There’s been a working church at Llangiwg from Ciwg’s time right up to 2004, and the vibe of fourteen hundred years of spiritual practice lingers, both within the building and all around the hilltop site which looks out over mountains and sea.
You can find out more about St Ciwg’s at the Llangiwg Trust site.
